Misery Business – Paramore
Paramore’s song Misery Business is the song that made Paramore known to the mainstream audience. Misery Business was the lead single for their 2007’s second album Riot! and became a big success. It ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Modern Rock Tracks Chart. By June 2022, the song was awarded platinum six times, as they sold it six million times in the US. The song tells the story of the experience of the band’s lead singer, Hayler Williams. A girl was exploiting a male friend of hers, and afterwards, when Hayley started dating this guy, she could set him free. The drum transcription is technically not very hard, as the same patterns return throughout the song. However, don’t be surprised by the speed, as the rate throws many people off, making it a piece for intermediate drummers.
