Imagine – John Lennon
Imagine is a song performed by English songwriter John Lennon and released on his 1971 album of the same name. The song’s lyrics inspire listeners to picture a world without money, boundaries dividing nations or religion. It is the best-selling single of his solo career. Lennon claimed shortly before his passing that his wife, Yoko Ono, was primarily responsible for the song’s words and content. The song was co-produced by Phil Spector. The recording started in May 1971 at Lennon’s private studio in Tittenhurst Park, England, and was completed in July at the Record Plant in New York City. After Lennon’s murder in 1980, it became the number-one song.
