Where Is My Mind? – The Pixies
Where Is My Mind? is the sixth track on the American alternative rock band Pixies’ debut album Surfer Rosa, released in 1988. It is one of the band’s defining tracks and spawned many cover versions. The track was listed at No. 493 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2021. Frontman Black Francis wrote the song while he was a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, drawing inspiration from his scuba experiences in the Caribbean. Later, he claimed, “This tiny fish is attempting to pursue me. I’m unsure why because I don’t understand fish behaviour very well.”
