My friend Jesse and I recently walked the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory, just outside of Alice Springs. We captured our trip through film, photos and in a journal. I have added pictures and extracts from the journals here for you to experience the adventure with us. Videos will follow soon.
Lots of love, Yentl and Jesse.
Day 13: Millers Flat to Jay Creek
We’ve been on the trail for almost two weeks and only have three days left. Time has flown by; I can’t believe how quickly this trip has passed. After another lovely coffee and breakfast, we set out about 9.20 am. Because we only have 10 km today, we decided to take the optional high route and take some pictures of the two of us. After relaxing in the sun on top of the mountain, we got to camp at 2 pm. We will chill out the rest of the day before our 27 km tomorrow.
Day 14: Jay Creek – Simpsons Gap
Those long-distance days are mentally extraordinary. Every time Jesse and I meet up after a stretch of walking, both of us looked like we’d been on another planet until that moment. It’s funny how far the mind wanders when you get into that flow on the trail. We also forgot to take photos while walking, haha.
