My friend Jesse and I recently walked the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory, just outside Alice Springs. We captured our trip through film, photos and in a journal. I have added pictures and extracts from Jesse’s journal to experience the adventure with us. Videos will follow soon.
Lots of love, Yentl and Jesse.
Day 3: Hill Top Lookout to Finke River
This morning we woke up to a cold and windy sunrise, lighting up Mt. Sonder. Because we walked further yesterday, we only had a short downhill towards Finke River today. At Finke, we spend the afternoon talking to Ally, Nikki, Bridgette and Aiden about Thru-hiking and the PCT. Later we decided to do a side-trip to the Glen Helen Gorge. We hoped to make it back to camp before dark, but that was unsuccessful.
Day 4: Finke River to Ormiston Gorge
Today was a very smooth day. We had light backpacks and only 7 km to go! The pack-up was easy as we slept on the platforms instead of in our tent. Leaving at 8.30 am, we arrived around 10.30 am and spend the day swimming and chatting with Richard and Noel. In the evening we could enjoy some ciders that we put into our food drops :)
