The American rock band Foo Fighters wrote the song Learn to Fly. On November 2, 1999, it was released as the lead single from their third studio album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999). It was the band’s debut Billboard Hot 100 entry and their second-highest charting single, peaking at number 19. It also charted in Australia, Canada, Hungary, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, and the United Kingdom, where it reached the top 40. The music video for the song won Best Short Form Video at the 43rd Grammy Awards in 2001.
