Speed Of Sound – Coldplay
Speed of Sound is a song by the British rock band Coldplay. It was written by all of the band members for their third studio album, X&Y. (2005). The piece is built on a piano and guitar theme and culminates in a monumental, synthesiser-heavy chorus. Speed Of Sound was released as the album’s lead single by Parlophone Records. The song debuted on BBC Radio 1 with Lamacq on April 19, 2005, and was later serviced to US radio on April 25, 2005. The song was released in the United Kingdom on May 23, along with two B-sides, Things I Don’t Understand and Proof.
