Get Together – The Youngbloods
The Youngbloods’ “Get Together” resonates as a gentle yet insistent call for unity. It unfolds like a quiet anthem carried on the breeze of the late 1960s. Released in 1967, the song drifts with an almost meditative calm, yet beneath its laid-back folk exterior lies a profound urgency—an appeal to compassion in a fractured world. Its lilting rhythm and warm acoustic textures create a sense of communal intimacy, as if the listener is drawn into a shared moment of reflection. The refrain, simple yet enduring, echoes like a mantra, dissolving boundaries between self and other. Jesse Colin Young’s voice carries both weariness and hope, embodying the tension between disillusionment and idealism. Guided by its understated arrangement and timeless sincerity, “Get Together” becomes more than a song—it transforms into a quiet philosophy, where harmony is not just imagined, but deeply felt.

About Me:
After finishing my master’s in drums & percussion and a bachelor’s in jazz studies, I started teaching music in my home country, Belgium. When commencing my world travels at the beginning of 2019, I took the opportunity to teach wherever my travels would bring me. Consequently, I have taught music and drum lessons in plenty of places over the past few years. I always did everything possible at every school to ensure my students had the best education possible. Moreover, I started to write Drum Lessons and Drum Transcriptions to give my students everything they need to become great musicians. One of those drum transcriptions is Get Together by The Youngbloods.
