I woke up in the morning with a policeman knocking on my door. It wasn’t a good sign because I knew people are not supposed to camp here at the five-mile beach. Luckily I got away with it pretty quickly, explaining to him how I was a tourist that only just came into Australia. The first stop today was Geraldton. This place is famous for, of course, its beautiful coastline at the esplanade but also the St Francis Xavier Cathedral, so I went to check it out. Later I also went to the HMAS Sydney II memorial, and later in the museum, I learned everything about its history. Finishing off with the Point Moore lighthouse, I was ready to start driving again. There’s something special about lighthouses, and I like to visit them, don’t ask me why, because I don’t know. The next stop on my unplanned list was Sandy Gully. A little bit spooked by the policeman in the morning this time I booked a campsite. Luckily for me, there were no other people at the camp.
